RAWsome Mind: Exhale. Inhale. Repeat.

A snake has the privilege of shedding its skin... releasing who it once was to allow room for its new self to shine. A seed has the opportunity to crack its hard exterior to allow its softness room to come out...to provide the chance for growth. I have the ability to exhale.

It's an underused and overlooked superpower we as humans are gifted with. The power of our breath. So often we are unaware of it until it is difficult to inhale. We struggle with colds, cursing the challenge to bring fresh air into our lungs. We slow ourselves as we climb mountains searching for thick oxygen to fill us. We find a rhythm between our breath and our feet as our feet learn to run. Each step hitting the pavement allows a beat for our breath to dance to.

Yoga has taught me that the action of breathing is more than just that... it is an art...a tool of transformation ... a method to transport ourselves away from fear and struggle into a blissful at state of tranquility. Each breath is a chance for us to deepen ourselves; to shed the most recent layer of who we were to celebrate what we are becoming.

Science has taught me that gasses flow from high pressure to low pressure... guaranteed. It's effortless when you allow it to be. Try it: empty your lungs and notice how the inhale takes care of itself.

Connection with the universe has taught me that if you create the space the universe will fill you with whatever you manifest. Want joy in your life...? Bring it to you with the direction of your thoughts.

When you put these three components together (yoga | science | universal connection) you are unstoppable. Panic, anxiety, fatigue, sadness...? You can breathe your way through them and allow yourself to release what no longer serves you, and to create an openness for all that you wish to welcome into your life. Focus on the exhale and the inhale will take care of the rest, literally filling you with the subtle strength and serenity of the entire universe. Exhale. Inhale. Repeat.
